Program

Overview

The course offers specialised training in advanced ultrasound imaging techniques tailored for specialists focusing on musculoskeletal regions. It covers detailed anatomy, scanning techniques, and pathology evaluation in the Hip, Thigh, Knee, Ankle, Foot, and Posterior Leg areas. Live demonstrations provide visual examples for accurate identification of structures, complemented by hands-on practice on live models to enhance skills. Interactive discussions and Q&A sessions consolidate knowledge, spanning from fundamental principles to advanced applications, empowering participants with refined expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging.

Learning Outcomes

Through lectures and practical interactive sessions, participants will be able to use ultrasound as a tool to DIAGNOSE:

  • Distinguish and identify anatomical landmarks, normal anatomy, anatomical variants, and pathologies.
  • Interpret and differentiate sonographic apprearances of normal anatomy, anatomical variants, and pathologies.
  • Acquire scanning techniques to dynamically assess and obtain ultrasound images of relevant anatomy.
  • Generate and optimise ultrasound images using appropriate machine controls, settings, and transducer selection.
  • Navigate ultrasound artifacts.
  • Outline key clinical questions to determine most likely and differential diagnoses.
  • Synthesise sonographic appearances of pathologies with patient presentation into clinical management decisions.
  • Evaluate and assess progress through case-based discussions.

Accreditation & Certification

Martinoli Ultrasound courses are not CME/CPD-accredited by default unless stated. Upon completion, participants receive a Certificate of Completion stating the total theoretical and practical education hours undertaken. Participants may choose to apply for self-claim CME/CPD points with their respective professional associations, societies, or colleges if such recognition is permitted. Please note that approval of self-claims is at the discretion of the relevant authority, and Martinoli Ultrasound is not responsible if credit is not granted.
