The Peripheral Nerve Ultrasound MASTERS course is a comprehensive program designed for specialists seeking an in-depth understanding of nerve anatomy, scanning techniques, and pathology. This immersive workshop covers the peripheral, upper, and lower limb nerves, exploring areas such as the brachial plexus, cervical nerves, shoulder, thoracic outlet, wrist, hand, pelvis, hip, thigh, knee, leg, ankle, and foot. Live demonstrations, practical scanning sessions on live models, and interactive group discussions enhance comprehension from fundamental principles to cutting-edge applications. The course aims to equip participants with a holistic understanding and practical skills in peripheral nerve ultrasound assessment, ensuring a thorough grasp of this specialised field.
Through lectures and practical interactive sessions, participants will be able to use ultrasound as a tool to DIAGNOSE:
- Distinguish and identify anatomical landmarks, normal anatomy, anatomical variants, and pathologies.
- Interpret and differentiate sonographic apprearances of normal anatomy, anatomical variants, and pathologies.
- Acquire scanning techniques to dynamically assess and obtain ultrasound images of relevant anatomy.
- Generate and optimise ultrasound images using appropriate machine controls, settings, and transducer selection.
- Navigate ultrasound artifacts.
- Outline key clinical questions to determine most likely and differential diagnoses.
- Synthesise sonographic appearances of pathologies with patient presentation into clinical management decisions.
- Evaluate and assess progress through case-based discussions.
